Gruhapravesham is the sacred ceremony performed when a family enters a new home for the first time. It purifies the house, invokes Vastu Purusha and the Navagrahas, and invites the blessings of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi for health, harmony and prosperity.

Do we need to move in on the same day as the Gruhapravesham?
Traditionally the family stays in the home on the night of the Gruhapravesham. If that is not possible, Sri Shyam Sharma will suggest what to keep in the house until you move in.
Can Gruhapravesham be done in an apartment or rented home?
Yes. A simpler Gruhapravesham with Ganapati Pooja, Punyahavachanam and Satyanarayana Vratam is common for apartments and rentals. Homam can be adjusted for smoke alarms.
What about smoke detectors during the homam?
Homam uses a small, controlled fire. We recommend temporarily covering the nearest smoke detector and opening windows; Sri Shyam Sharma keeps the fire small for indoor homes.
How early should we book?
Good muhurthams fill quickly, especially in spring and summer. Booking 3–6 weeks ahead is ideal; contact us even if your date is closer.
